Before we begin our test fit, we will firstly obtain the hitch height of our vehicle. This is the measurement from the ground to the inside top of the receiver tube. We'll get a measurement of about 23-1/4". Keep in mind, this measurement may vary due to tire size, hitch style, or other after market accessories. We'll now begin our test fit in a drop position by sliding the shank of the ball mount into the opening of the hitch. more

Today on our 2013 Toyota Rav4, we will be test fitting the Draw Tite Ball Mount with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop with a capacity of 7500 lbs., Part #2923. We will begin out test fit by getting our hitch height, this is the measurement from ground to the inside top edge of our receiver tube. So our Rav4's hitch height is about 13 inches. We will now take our ball mount install it in the drop position being sure to line up our pin holes and securing it with a pin and clip. We will not take a measurement from the ground to the top of our ball platform and this will be around 11 inches. Make sure to measure your trailer height when your trailer is level. Measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler. If your measurement matches ours, this would be a correct fit for you. We will now turn our ball mount to the rise position. more

Today on our 2013 Toyota Rav4 we will be test fitting the Curt Tri-Ball Mount Hollow 2" Shank, Part #C45001. To begin our test fit, we'll measure our hitch height from the ground to the inside of the top receiver tube of our hitch. Our measurement here is about 13 inches. We will slide the shank of the ball mount into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pin holes, slide through our pin and secure it with a clip. When installed, the height of our ball mount will be equal to our hitch height. Make sure to measure your trailer height when your trailer is level. Measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler. If your measurement matches ours, this would be a correct fit for you. By removing our pin and clip, we can rotate to the left exposing our inch and 7/8 inch ball. more

Once secured with the pin and clip, we'll go ahead and measure from the ground to the top of the ball platform, getting a measurement of about 18 1/4 of an inch. Now if your vehicle's hitch height matches ours and your trailer's right height matches this measurement, this should be an appropriate ball mount for you. We can now flip the ball mount over into the rise position and again measure from the ground to the top of the ball platform and this position, this measurement if about 21 1/2 inches. Again, if your trailer's right height matches this measurement, this should be an appropriate ball mount for you. And that would complete today's test fit for the Draw Tite Ball Mount, part number 2923 on our 2014 Ford Explorer. . more

The tri-ball mount has a 1-7/8 inch ball, a 2-inch ball, and a 2-5/16 inch ball mounted on a hollow enclosed shank, which is black powder coated. It'll fit a 2-inch by 2-inch trailer hitch, and the towing capacity depends on the weight capacity of the ball. The 1-7/8 inch ball has a 5,000-pound towing capacity. The 2-inch ball has a 7,500-pound towing capacity, and the 2-5/16 inch ball has a 10,000-pound towing capacity.
